Ugandan Artists Dazzle at Riyadh Season 2025, Marking Cultural Diplomacy Milestone
Riyadh, Saudi Arabia
Ugandan creatives have captured international attention with a vibrant showcase at Riyadh Season 2025, the Middle East’s premier cultural and entertainment festival. Held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, the event this year featured Global Harmony Festival segments, where Uganda was spotlighted for two days.
The delegation included 25 artists and performers representing traditional music, dance, cuisine and tourism — making Uganda the first sub-Saharan African nation featured in the festival’s “Countries of the World” series. Energetic drum ensembles, “kadodi” beats, and cultural troupes drew large crowds and high praise from festival attendees.
Trade advocates note the exposure could open new tourism markets and creative economy ties, particularly with Gulf-region cultural networks keen to expand cross-continent collaborations.

Why It Matters
Uganda’s presence at Riyadh Season strengthens its cultural diplomacy footprint, diversifies international tourism marketing, and highlights the potential of creative industries to support national branding and export services.
