Uganda Takes Lead Hosting Major East African Aviation Summit

Kampala,Uganda
Uganda is hosting the 48th East African Consultative Meeting on Facilitation of Air Transport (EAC-FAL) from November 26–28, 2025 at Speke Resort Munyonyo, bringing together aviation regulators, airlines and security agencies from across the region. The gathering — convened by the Uganda Civil Aviation Authority (UCAA) in partnership with the Ministry of Works & Transport — aims to harmonize regional aviation standards, improve passenger and cargo facilitation, and strengthen East Africa’s air transport connectivity.

Why it matters

As air travel rebounds globally, a robust, unified aviation framework is critical for East Africa’s integration. Uganda’s leadership in hosting EAC-FAL signals growing confidence in the country’s aviation infrastructure and underscores its ambition to become a regional air-hub. Improved facilitation and streamlined standards could reduce delays, increase safety, and make cross-border travel more efficient. For businesses, tourists, and cargo operators, enhanced connectivity translates into expanded trade routes, easier mobility and stronger regional integration.

What to watch
