Uganda Marks International Coffee Day With Busoga Event
JINJA, Uganda — Uganda is celebrating International Coffee Day on October 2 with a special event at the Jinja Agricultural Showgrounds, focusing on value addition and opportunities in the Busoga sub‑region’s coffee sector.
The 2025 theme is “Exploring Opportunities Along the Coffee Value Chain in Busoga.” The Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries (MAAIF) and the Uganda Coffee Federation (UCF) are leading the event, emphasizing on‑farm improvements, processing technologies, and market linkages.
This occasion comes at a critical time, as coffee remains one of Uganda’s key export commodities and a vital source of income for millions of smallholder farmers. The event aims to stimulate innovation, investment, and sustainable practices in the sector.
