The Electoral Commission nominates Yoweri Museveni as Presidential Candidate

H.E President Yoweri Museveni has been duly nominated by the Independent Electoral Commission to run for presidency on the NRM ticket in the forthcoming 2026 general elections.

Shortly after the nomination, Yoweri Museveni thanked NRM members for trusting him with the flag and promised to deliver on the party promises, including but not limited to transforming the economy into a higher middle-income status.

Museveni is scheduled today to address thousands of his Supporters at Kololo Independence Grounds Kampala.

Security has been beefed up in and around Kampala and some parts of Wakiso.

Most roads leading to Kololo independence grounds are closed with intentions of giving way to the celebrating NRM Party.

This time round, the NRM party’s nominations and campaigns are under the Hashtag #ProtectingTheGains.
