Second Uganda–Somalia Business Summit to Strengthen Economic Ties
Kampala, Uganda — The much-anticipated Second Uganda–Somalia Investment and Business Summit is scheduled for October 7–8 at the Mestil Hotel in Kampala. This high-level summit aims to foster stronger economic relations and explore new trade and investment opportunities between the two East African nations.

The inaugural summit last year laid the groundwork for increased bilateral cooperation in sectors such as agriculture, infrastructure, and technology. This year’s gathering will feature business leaders, government officials, and investors discussing strategies to enhance cross-border commerce.
Ugandan Minister of Trade, Francis Mwebesa, emphasized the importance of the summit: “We are committed to deepening our partnership with Somalia, creating an enabling environment for businesses to thrive and for economies to grow.”
Participants will also address challenges such as trade barriers, infrastructure gaps, and security concerns to ensure sustainable economic growth.
