Attack echoes Hamas tactics as a paraglider drops explosives on festival crowds.

At least 40 people were killed and more than 80 injured when an attacker on a paraglider dropped bombs on a festival crowd in Myanmar, authorities confirmed Wednesday.
The assault — described as one of the deadliest in recent years — took place in the central Sagaing region and bore chilling resemblance to tactics used in the 2023 Hamas attacks.

Videos circulating online showed festival-goers fleeing in panic as explosions ripped through the area. No group has claimed responsibility, though the region has been a flashpoint between military forces and resistance movements.

International observers condemned the attack as a “war crime against civilians.”
