Museveni Picks Nomination Forms, Confirms 2026 Presidential Bid

President Yoweri Museveni has officially entered the 2026 presidential race, aiming for a seventh term in office.

NRM First National Vice Chairperson Hajji Moses Kigongo and Secretary General Richard Todwong collected nomination forms on his behalf from the Electoral Commission in Kampala.

Museveni now joins a total of 95 aspirants who have so far submitted their interest in contesting for the presidency.

Having led the country since 1986, Museveni will once again carry the NRM flag, setting the stage for a competitive 2026 election campaign.
