Meteorological Authority Warns of Heavy Rains and Localized Flooding in Parts of Uganda
Kampala, Uganda
The Uganda National Meteorological Authority (UNMA) has issued a weather advisory warning of heavy rainfall and possible localized flooding in several regions over the coming days as the second rainy season continues.

According to UNMA, central, eastern, and parts of western Uganda are likely to experience intermittent heavy showers accompanied by thunderstorms, particularly in low-lying and urban areas. Officials caution that poor drainage systems may worsen flood risks in major towns, including Kampala.
Farmers are advised to take advantage of the rainfall for late planting where applicable, while residents in flood-prone areas are urged to remain alert and avoid crossing water-logged roads.

Why It Matters:
Extreme and unpredictable weather continues to affect agriculture, transport, and public safety. Timely warnings help communities mitigate damage, protect livelihoods, and reduce loss of life and property.
What to Watch:
Updated weather advisories from UNMA
Flood reports from urban and low-lying districts
