HRMAU UNVEILS 3RD ANNUAL SPORTS GALA 2025

Human Resource Managers Association of Uganda has today launched their third annual sports gala to run under the theme ,”Healthy people,productive work places”.
Speaking at the launch,Ronald Bbosa,the President of Human Resource Managers’ Association of Uganda said,Human resource Managers take long to engage themselves in sports and other health activities however much they need them.Bbosa says because of their busy work schedules, whenever they arrange such activities, they are passive and mostly attended by their employees leaving themselves aside.
“Many of our colleagues end up battling with Non Communicable Diseases like, Cardiovascular diseases,cancer,diabetes and others partly because of lack of exercise and bad eating practices” he says.
Bbosa continues to say,”we are to get involved in a friendly sports competition, networking and team building”. Sports activities including;football,netball,athletics, volleyball,Zumba and other fun-team building activities.In addition to sports,the event will also host a whole day blood donation exercise spearheaded by Uganda Red Cross Society.
During the launch at Motiv in Bugoloobi a Kampala suburb,the programmes manager Blood recruitment drive in Uganda Red Cross Society Ms Sarah Muteegombwa said,blood donation drives among adults are crucial moreso during school holiday times since during such times the blood deficit/burden is high.
“16 mothers in Uganda die everyday due to blood related problems and out of Seven people that visit Ugandan health facilities,three end up in dire need for blood” Muteegombwa says.
She reiterates that,50% of blood donated in Uganda is used by children under 5 years,30% by mothers in labour,10%accident victims and 10% by people that have undergone operations,chronically ill and those that are undergoing dialysis treatment.
The said sports HRMAU gala is slated for the 23rd of August at MUBS Nakawa play grounds with focus on Non Communicable Diseases’ awareness and blood donation drive.
