Green Finance & Africa: New Deal for $50 B + 1000 Climate Innovations

At the second edition of the Africa Climate Summit in Addis Ababa, African leaders adopted the Addis Ababa Declaration and launched the “Africa Climate Innovation Compact” — a pledge to deliver 1,000 home-grown climate-solutions by 2030 and attract US $50 billion annually in catalytic finance.
Financial institutions like African Development Bank (AfDB), Africa50, and Afreximbank signed a cooperation framework for the Africa Green Industrialisation Initiative (AGII), backed by US $100 billion, to transform Africa’s industries into climate-smart engines of growth.
