CAF President Motsepe Hails Uganda for Successful CHAN 2024 Hosting
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) President, Dr. Patrice Motsepe, has lauded President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and Ugandans for their outstanding role in the successful hosting of the CAF TotalEnergies African Nations Championship (CHAN) 2024.
The message of appreciation was delivered on Sunday by Speaker of Parliament Anita Annet Among, who conveyed Dr. Motsepe’s special recognition to President Museveni.
According to Speaker Among, the acknowledgment is a testament to Uganda’s growing reputation as a dependable hub for major continental sporting events.
“Earlier today, I delivered a special appreciation message to President @KagutaMuseveni on behalf of CAF President Dr. Patrice Motsepe. This message was for the people of Uganda, recognising their successful hosting of the CAF TotalEnergies African Nations Championship 2024,” she said.
She further applauded all those who contributed to making the tournament a success, stressing the power of sports to unite communities.
“I thank H.E. @KagutaMuseveni, Mama @JanetMuseveni, the local organising committee @OfficialFUFA, and the incredible fans who helped create unforgettable memories during the tournament,” Among added.
The 2024 CHAN, jointly hosted by Uganda, Kenya, and Tanzania in August, has been described as one of the most vibrant editions of the competition. Uganda, in particular, earned praise for its warm hospitality, efficient organization, and the electric atmosphere created by its fans.
