“Air Tanzania Receives Approval to Launch Dar es Salaam–Accra Route”

Dar es Salaam, Tanzania Air Tanzania has been granted a Validated Foreign Air Operator Certificate (VFAOC) by the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority, authorizing the airline to commence scheduled flights between Dar es Salaam and Accra. This development marks a significant step in enhancing regional connectivity and promoting intra-African trade and tourism.

The approval ceremony took place on October 14, 2025, at Kotoka International Airport in Accra, with the certificate presented to Tanzania’s Ambassador Designate to Ghana, Selestine Kakele. The new route is expected to strengthen East–West African connectivity, supporting the objectives of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) and the Single African Air Transport Market (SAATM) .

Air Tanzania’s CEO expressed optimism about the new route, stating that it would not only facilitate easier travel for passengers but also open up opportunities for cargo transport between the two countries. The airline is committed to providing safe, reliable, and affordable services to enhance regional integration.

The launch of the Dar es Salaam–Accra route is part of Air Tanzania’s broader strategy to expand its network across Africa, fostering greater economic cooperation and cultural exchange between East and West Africa.
