24 Ordained Priests, 17 Receive Their Deaconate Orders in Kampala Archdiocese

The Archbishop of Kampala Archdiocese His Worship Paul Ssemogerere has Ordained 24 Deacons to Priesthood and 17 Seminarians to Deaconate after intense training and formation from gazzeted Catholic faith institutions.

While Ordaining them,the Archbishop of Kampala His Worship Paul Ssemogerere has cautioned them to be extra obedient to their Masters and involve the Christians in the day to day activities of the Roman Catholic church.

“Priesthood has its roots in Jesus Christ the son of God,I urge you to emulate him by doing what you are expected of,spreading the word of God using the tool given,extending love to people,showing them the right way to take,counselling those in need,teaching them to avoid sin and others” he said.

What surprised most of the faithful at the ordination function,was the Archbishop of Kampala kneeling before the newly ordained priests and got blessings from them,one by one.
The successful candidates were
recently passed out by their three respective seminaries including;St.Mary’s Ggaba major seminary,St.Mbaaga Ggaba major seminary and St.Paul Kinyamasika major seminary.

Bwayise and Mitalamaria parishes in Kampala Archdiocese took the lead with two Deacons to Priesthood respectively out of the now 75 known and operational parishes of Kampala Archdiocese.

Kasenge Parish one of the recently announced and launched new parishes have had their first priest Rev Fr. Benard Mukiibi.

The rest of the parishes have one successful candidate while others had none.

Information from within the Diocese has indicated that these priests and Deacons are from three National major seminaries of St Paul Kinyamasika, St.Mbaaga and St.Mary’s major seminary Ggaba.
