Mulago Hospital Launches Digital Project to Combat Health Misinformation

Mulago National Referral Hospital has unveiled a new digital communications and public education project aimed at combating rising health misinformation circulating across social media and informal networks.

The project will create verified medical content, run interactive health Q&A platforms, and engage communities through digital outreach.

Officials say misinformation remains one of the biggest contributors to delayed treatment, vaccine hesitancy, and reliance on unverified remedies

“Digital misinformation is now a health threat,” a senior clinician said. “We must respond with credible, accessible information.”
