Wakiso and Mukono Districts continues to face widespread unannounced power outages, crippling small businesses across Nansana, Gayaza, Kasangati, and Kyengera and in Mukono areas of central business District,Seeta,Nabuti,and other sorrounding Neighborhood.Outages lasting up to ten hours have affected welding shops, salons, digital service hubs, and fresh-food vendors.

UMEME attributes the outages to network maintenance and emergency repairs. However, business owners argue the utility failed to provide timely warnings, resulting in significant financial losses.

District leaders have summoned UMEME for formal engagement to demand a realistic restoration plan and discuss potential compensation. Residents report higher food prices and disrupted daily routines as businesses shorten hours.
