Helios Investment Partners, a leading Africa-focused private equity firm, is significantly increasing its investment in the continent’s sports and entertainment sectors. The firm plans to capitalize on the surging demand from Africa’s youth, who are increasingly consuming sports and entertainment content via mobile platforms.
This strategic move includes the establishment of the Helios Sports & Entertainment Group, which has already made notable investments, such as a $1 billion deal with the NBA. Additionally, Helios has secured $50 million in funding from the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and Proparco to scale investments in events, media rights, and infrastructure across the continent.
