Stanbic Uganda Bids Farewell to Marketing Head Daniel Ogong

Kampala, Uganda
After eight years at the helm of Stanbic Bank Uganda’s brand and marketing operations, Daniel Ogong is set to exit his role on October 1, 2025.

During his tenure, Ogong spearheaded high-impact campaigns that helped Stanbic solidify its position as one of Uganda’s most recognizable financial brands. His initiatives fused music, sport, and finance — linking the bank with everyday Ugandans in creative ways.

Stanbic’s management described him as a “visionary leader” whose ideas raised the bank’s visibility and trustworthiness, especially during challenging economic cycles.

“Daniel has been more than a marketing head. He has been a culture shaper,” a senior colleague said at his farewell event.

Beyond marketing, Ogong championed corporate social responsibility programs, including support for SMEs and education initiatives.

His departure raises questions about the bank’s future branding direction. Stanbic is yet to announce his successor, but analysts suggest the institution may seek a candidate with digital marketing expertise to align with shifting customer behavior.

Colleagues described Ogong as “driven, bold, and people-centered,” while peers in the wider marketing industry credit him for setting high standards of brand storytelling in Uganda’s financial sector.

For customers, the change may go unnoticed in the short term — but in a competitive banking landscape, Stanbic’s next brand leader will need to balance innovation with the trust the bank has built under Ogong’s stewardship.
