Entebbe Double Murder: Police Raises Bounty to Shs 60M, Denies Identifying Suspects
Police has dismissed reports that suspects in the murder of Mr. and Mrs. Mutaaga in Entebbe have already been identified, even as it increases the reward for information to Shs 60 million.
Police Spokesperson ACP Kituuma Rusoke clarified that some individuals mentioned in the media are only “persons of interest” under review by investigators.
“In the New Vision edition of Friday, 12 September 2025, it was suggested that we have identified the actual suspects; however, this is not the case,” Rusoke said.
He added that no one has yet been confirmed as the actual perpetrator.
“For clarification, we highlighted individuals whom our investigative sources suspect may be connected to the crime. Once conclusive evidence is established against any suspect, we will formally release their details to the public,” ACP Rusoke emphasized.
At the same time, the police announced an increase in the bounty offered to the public for credible information that could lead to the killers’ arrest.
“We initially offered a reward of 50 million shillings for information leading to the arrest of the suspect, whose photo and voice we have shared. This reward has now been increased to 60 million shillings,” Rusoke stated.
According to police, the decision is aimed at encouraging cooperation with the ongoing investigations.
Authorities further assured that anyone who comes forward with information will have their identity protected.
