NRM Unveils Official Portrait of Presidential Candidate for 2026 Elections

The National Resistance Movement (NRM) has officially unveiled the campaign portrait of its presidential flag bearer, Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, ahead of the 2026 General Elections.

The event was held at the NRM Secretariat in Kampala, attended by senior party officials and supporters.

NRM Secretary General Richard Todwong highlighted the party’s manifesto campaign under the theme: “Protecting Gains as We Make a Qualitative Leap into High Middle-Income Status.” He noted that Uganda’s economy has been growing steadily, citing a 7% annual growth rate and a gross domestic product (GDP) of about USD 45 billion, which he said places the country on track to attain middle-income status.

The unveiling marks a key step in the party’s preparations for the elections, with President Museveni expected to spearhead the NRM’s campaign. Party leaders emphasized that the portrait symbolizes both continuity and the party’s vision for Uganda’s future development.
