30 Stolen Number Plates Recovered in Seguku Operation
Police in Lubowa Division have retrieved 30 stolen vehicle number plates following an intelligence-led operation in Seguku Zone 5, Wakiso District.
The recovery was made on Thursday, September 11, 2025, at around 1:30 p.m. after officers acted on a tip-off from vigilant residents. The number plates were discovered hidden in a sweet potato garden, packed inside a sack branded Kakira Sugar.
Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson, SSP Patrick Onyango, confirmed the successful operation, saying statements have already been obtained from witnesses.
“We recovered 30 number plates which had been stolen from various vehicles. They were found concealed in a sack within a sweet potato garden,” Onyango said.
He further appealed to members of the public who lost their number plates to approach the police and identify their property.
“I call upon all those who had their number plates stolen to visit Lubowa Police Station for identification and reclaiming of their property,” he added.
The exhibits are currently secured at Mboa Police Station.
